Dental Services for patients with special needs

Patients with special needs are those who due to physical, medical, developmental or cognitive conditions require special consideration when receiving dental treatment. This can include people with autism, Alzheimer’s disease, Down syndrome, spinal cord injuries and countless other conditions or injuries that can make standard dental procedures more difficult.

Caring for a patient with special needs takes compassion and understanding. Northeast Dental Partners has a strong focus on providing services and accommodations for children and adults with special needs. Drs. Cabral and Pouzol have a passion for caring for individuals with special needs and believe in the importance of serving and treating these patients.

Dr. Cabral is credentialed at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center to complete comprehensive dental treatment for individuals with special needs under general anesthesia. For those individuals who are unable to receive treatment at the office, he consults with their caretaker or guardian and develops a plan for treatment in the operating room.
